Like all medicines, Propranolol can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Stop treatment and contact a doctor immediately if you have symptoms of intolerance to Propranolol, such as a slow heart rate and low blood pressure causing dizziness, light-headedness, fainting, or blurred vision, or if you have an allergic reaction, such as itching, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue. Inform your doctor if you notice any of the following common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): disturbed sleep or nightmares, a slower heart rate, cold fingers and toes, numbness and spasms in the fingers followed by warmth and pain (Raynaud’s phenomenon), or fatigue. Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people) include feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people) include easy bruising (thrombocytopaenia), mood changes, confusion, memory loss, psychosis or hallucinations (disturbances of the mind), tingling sensations (pins and needles), vision disturbances or dry eyes, breathlessness and/or swollen ankles if you have heart failure, heart block causing abnormal heartbeats, dizziness, tiredness or fainting, worsening of poor blood circulation, worsening of breathing difficulties if you have or have had asthma, hair loss, skin rash, including worsening of psoriasis, and purple spots on the skin (purpura).
